Jobs: Signing Teaching Assistants needed:
Hi, I'm a teacher in the Resource Room for DHH kids in the Delta School District. We have an ad in the newspaper this weekend (Sept.25/26) for a TA with signing skills (preferably ASL 5), oral interpreting skills and a Teaching Assistant certificate to work at Heath Elementary in North Delta where our Resource Room is located. The position is 20 hours per week and involves working mostly with hearing-Impaired students at the Intermediate level (grade 7 Math and Social Studies) as well as some work with other specail needs kids in the school. The person will need to be familiar with language breakdown techniqes, modification of classroom work and work in mainstream classes as well as with small groups form the Hearing Resource Room.
