The Success Scholarship

The Canadian Sensory Institute is accepting applications from deaf and hard of hearing students for:

You can earn one of TEN awards of up to $500 each to assist you to pay tuition fees and continue your studies/training if:

You have shown leadership and success in one of these categories:

Academics
Athletics & Sports
Fine Arts & Performing Arts
Technology & Trades
You are:

* A BC resident
* currently attending Grade 12 at a public or independent school
* planning to pursue post secondary education or training
in September 2007

Through Deaf Eyes PBS Documentary

One 2 hour program It was supposed to be on March 21, but my TV guide and a couple of online TV guides say it is not on. I think these 2 times in April are the local cable PBS times that we will be able to see the program. T

This year’s Optimist Contest


Please note some of the important rules/criteria for this year’s Optimist Contest:

· Students must have a bi-lateral hearing loss of 40dB or greater
· The hearing loss must be significant in the ‘speech banana’ range
· The contest is open to oral/signing students grades 6-12
· Students with unilateral hearing losses are not eligible; however, students with a unilateral hearing loss are encouraged to compete in the Oratorical contest held by their local Optimist Club in their region/municipality.
