Scholarship opportunity
IF YOU WERE EDITOR ...

The BC and Yukon Community Newspaper Association and the BC Press Council award scholarships every year worth $5,000, $3,500 and $1,500 to 3 graduating students from BC or the Yukon. The scholarships go to the students who write the best 500-word essay answering the question: "If you could spend one day as publisher of [your local community newspaper], what changes would you make and why?"

Students must submit their entries to their community newspaper by April 28, 2006. For a list of community newspapers, visit:

Sandra Vandenhoff is an audiologist with a severe to profound hearing loss.
She received a cochlear implant in January 2006. She is presently employed as an educational audiologist for the Calgary Board of Education. Sandra will be sponsored by Phonak to attend our conference.

Sean Reily is the Western Territory Manager for Phonic Ear and Frontrow covering British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Territories. He has been with Phonic Ear since 2002 and has a background in Customer Service and Wireless Technologies

Wendy Perry, Jayne Fenrich & Laurel Jensen are certified teachers for the deaf and hard-of-hearing in School District #37 (Delta). Wendy developed the advocacy Powerpoint and the Delta teachers have been using the powerpoint with their deaf and hard-of-hearing students with great success for the past several years.
