Questions: Hi ~ I'm seeking info on the following:

(1) COCHLEAR IMPLANT USERS & ANIT-STATIC COMPUTER DEVICES

What are you using? Where did you get it? How much did it cost? Who pays for it in your district (parent, school, trust account???).

(2) VISUAL EMERGENCY SIGNALS

If your district installs these could you please send your criteria (degree of hearing loss, age of child, location of lights, who pays?)

Please e-mail your recommendations to me at: adrummond@sd42.ca

Thanks so much!

Questions for Itinerant Teachers
Coquitlam is responsible for planning the Itinerant conference for spring 2005.

At the last CAEDHH-BC meeting, we were informed of a cochlear implant workshop that is being hosted by Children's Hospital in February, they will be looking at Pre and Post operative procedures, different CI case studies, the role of the Auditory Verbal Therapist, mapping, and habilitation.

We were hoping to host the Itinerant conference in April, and some of our proposed topics include classroom acoustics and a sharing session related to providing service to High School students, with more to come.

Here is our concern.... would itinerants only be able to attend one and if so what would they choose. If we host the itinerants conference, we would like to know that it would be well attended. Could you please let me know if you would attend both, or just one and if so, which one.

Thanks for your help

Lost Equipment.....
We have a student in one of our middle schools that has recently lost his Microlink receiver. I'm just inquiring about what other teachers have done with regard to replacing the new equipment, i.e. who pays for the replacement equipment?

You can repond to me at mvincent@sd43bc.ca

Thanks,
