The Vancouver Oral Centre Is Sponsoring a Free Workshop:
Parent and Child Advocacy and Tools for Living by Judith Simser, Cert. AVT

This session will address the critical partnership between parents and professionals and discuss how parents can develop their own and their child’s effective advocacy skills. Reinforcing children’s independence, their responsibility in accessing information and techniques to improve social and communication skills will also be highlighted.

Judith Simser, is an internationally acclaimed speaker on the education of children with hearing impairment. Judith recently spent a year in Singapore where she trained Auditory-Verbal therapists from South East Asia and developed the Listen and Talk program, an auditory-verbal program in Singapore. She has presented and continues to consult in numerous countries throughout the world. Judith is a founding board member and past president of Auditory-Verbal International and has many awards and publications. She is the parent of a son who is profoundly deaf who has earned an MBA and is a practicing lawyer.
